Dr. Bedell grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Xavier University. Two of Fr. Bedell's three siblings reside in Cincinnati, and she looks forward to settling in after being away from the area for four years. In 2021, Dr. Bedell completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Chicago College of Optometry.
During her training, she interned in various clinical settings including an ophthalmology and optometry private practice in Indiana. Working alongside eye care physicians, she managed ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration in addition to pre- and post- operative care of surgical patients and ocular emergencies. Her other internships included private practices in Chicago where she managed eye infections, glaucoma, and dry eye disease.
An aunt’s ocular melanoma sparked her interest in eye care. Prior to optometry school, Dr. Bedell completed an internship at the Cleveland Clinic’s Cole Eye Institute, learning to recognize and care for choroidal melanomas and orbital tumors.
Dr. Bedell is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association. With her downtime, Dr. Bedell enjoys cooking, running, and spending time with her friends and family.
